Residential Interior Design – A Disaster Waiting To Happen?

:: Posted by - admin :: Category - Interior Design

Everyone wants their home to be a place where they feel comfortable and which looks beautiful. That is why they call it ‘home’. In order to achieve this feeling of well being, they undertake some form of residential interior design.

The choices available to the consumer or home owner is to employ a professional or to use the resources at their disposal, decide on what they want and go it alone. Some people decide to go this way and there are online interior design courses available enabling them to fit this training into a busy schedule. Either way is fine if they are successful in creating an environment which supports their happiness and well being.

This article will attempt to briefly examine these choices of residential interior design with the end result in mind.

Home Decorating
Nowadays with the advancement of technology and an ever expanding economy, some people are fortunate enough to earn a living from home while others spend many hours at work and cannot wait to arrive home to relax. In either case, they must ‘feel’ comfortable where they live. People need to be in touch with the psychology of the design elements which they choose. Rather than decorating to impress anyone, it is important to choose the color, specific lighting, sounds, furnishings, patterns and other design elements of residential interior design that will provide security and happiness in a homeowner.

Home Design Software
There are software packages today that can do just about everything except tie your shoes. As one might expect, there is software that gives the homeowner the freedom to play the residential interior designer. They can start anywhere in the house using editable templates, customize the dimensions and move through every room in the house. Most programs have several built in features with easy to use interface to help with the design process. They can examine two and three dimensional views which offer daytime and night time walk thru, cutaway and multiple camera views.

This gives the homeowner a ‘feel’ for the design but can they handle the whole project?

Home Decor
The homeowner now has the ideas but is a little hesitant about where to start in their implementation and whether the ideas will work. They have items of furniture, paintings and accessories and they are not sure whether they will fit into the room or match the color combination, fabric, proportions and style. There is major work to be done that must meet building codes. The cost of the work must all meet a budget. At what stage does the homeowner call in the professional?

Residential Interior Designers
Residential interior designers are creative, licensed, professional business people who are qualified by education, training and experience. They encourage their clients to express their own individual personalities as this is considered the most important design ingredient. They pay attention to the wants and needs of the people in the house and ensure a successful residential interior design.

Conclusion
More people are undertaking residential interior design projects. They are considering the traditional elements of design and are including the psychology of design in the planning stage. Some are utilizing software that is available and if required employing the services of a licensed interior designer. In the end, it is all a personal preference with end harmonious result of happiness and well being of the homeowner in mind.

Home Decorating With French Style Decor

:: Posted by - admin :: Category - Home Decor

Home decorating with French style decor is a great way to rejuvenate tired rooms. The good news is that you are able to achieve the look of French country without spending a lot of money. Because the look takes advantage of older pieces, you might pick up some accents or some major elements of your design from second-hand or antique shops. Attending estate sales and country auctions is another way to find bargains without spending a fortune.

A French country kitchen usually comes to mind when you think of decorating with this theme. Kitchens are easy to redo. You are able to retain modern appliances, but add finishing touches and accessories that identify with the atmosphere of a kitchen in rural France. A pottery pitcher filled with fresh or silk flowers on a wooden cabinet is one example. Use stencils effectively to get the colors of France included in your decorating scheme.

Warm natural colors are common. Gold and yellow from the sunshine, pastel blues from the summer skies and dark, rich reds from the wildflowers that grow in the fields are all part of the color scheme you can use in your French country kitchen and throughout your home.

Use the color in your living room that is calming and welcoming at the same time. You can add fat candles as decorative touches. Wall decorations such as metal sconces should be brass or black painted metal with graceful designs. Flowers in decorative pottery containers add to the ambiance of France. You can often find collectible items that relate to French country accessories. These small vases or figures could be placed in a shadow box or wall display case.

In your French style bedroom, stay away from silks and satins. You can continue to use colors and fabrics that reflect a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The bedrooms should always reflect a restful mood so that you can enjoy sleeping. Try aromatic herbs and potpourri containers in bureau drawers or as decorative accents. These can be beneficial to your physical health while the colors and scents help your emotional well-being as well.

In the bathroom, you might want to use pottery soap dishes, toothbrush holders and lotion dispensers. If you use a shower curtain, use a design that incorporates your color scheme, but is not vinyl. You can always use a vinyl liner but the decorative portion should be fabric. The towel racks and toilet paper holders can all provide an atmosphere of fun. Avoid overly complex decorations and accent pieces.

If you live in a climate where outdoor living is possible, you can carry the French style onto your deck or patio. Use a multitude of large or small pots and containers in various colors placed on different levels. These containers can be filled with flowers and herbs to brighten the look of your outdoor living space. Don’t be limited by traditional flowering plants either. Try tomatoes, red and orange bell peppers and yellow summer squash plants.

If you are creative, using French style decor will be easy for you. If your imagination is challenged, the Internet is a rich source of ideas and suggestions. You can combine your own preferences with ideas from others to come up with a French home decor that is unique.

Two "serious" love-birds! Makes you just want to take them home. I love them.

In other news, wow. Nikon really out did themselves this time. They finally released a D-SLR worthy of actually upgrading to. Far surpassing the ᫪ and even the 𐫌s in technical imaging processing, minus the 2fps faster shutter speed (with grip) and less AF points, the 򧮘 is going to be the best value for the money. And what an upgrade it is.

Nikon has finally been able to up to their 16MP sensors from their 12MP ones. Improved ISO performance, manual video control, alloy bodies. This is where Nikon should have started. I can’t wait to see the improvements for their FX line-up.

Until I even have $ to upgrade, the ᪸ is all I need.. well, until the shutter fails.. whenever that is icon smile Latest Home Improvement News News still going strong click after click.

All I have against the 򧮘 is the name.. I loved the 𐱜 but this whole new 򦯸, 򦱜, 򧮘 line up — I’m not feeling it. It makes the camera feel so amature. Nikon could have come up with something else.

But for anyone in the market for a 00 camera or ,200 without lens, it can’t be beat.

DIY Solar Electricity Panels

Hey there, and welcome to the DIY Solar Electricity Panels information article. My name is Joshua Mintz and i wanted to share with you a great way to build your own, DIY solar electricity panels.

Homemade Solar Heating and Electricity

I know that if you have been following with the news in even the slightest way, then you have probably noticed how crazy things may seem right now. Its as if our country is going through a state of being never before seen here -atleast not in all of my years.

And it was through all this, and all of the recent energy news, that me and a few of my friends, co-workers and some family members decided to start our own little green energy group. Where we discuss things like , how to save energy and different ways to “Go Green” and also how to be more self sufficient.

And of course, DIY Solar Electricity covers both , the self sufficient and the green energy problems.

But actually finding the right plans for building homemade solar electricity panels was kind of tough. And at the end it became pretty clear that there were only 1 set of solar electricity plans that made sense. Thats what I want to describe for the readers of this article.

The DIY Solar Electricity panel plans that we use are the only ones that come with things like, Solar Panel Videos, the IRS Rebate Forms, Solar Calculator and so much more.

Thankfully, we found them early, especially because they come with the FREE Wind Generator Plans as well.

After creating DIY Solar Electricity panels, it seemed natural to create a wind generator as a secondary source of Green/FREE energy. Everything is under 0 – and if you work together, with a family member or a friend, you can get things done alot faster and easier.

If you would like the link to the actual DIY Solar electricity Panel plans that we use, you can check them  out here:

Tropical Home Decor – Create Your Own Tropical Haven!

:: Posted by - admin :: Category - Home Decor

If you are thinking of creating a Tropical haven at home, you will be catching on to a trend that has been growing immensely over the past few years. People connect the tropical theme with warmth, sun, sand, lush vegetation and balmy water. And with the hectic and stressful lives nowadays, everybody loves to be able to bring some of that special tranquility back into their lives.

You can transform your home into a relaxing, soothing and tranquil oasis and recreate this holiday feeling by choosing the right Tropical Home décor. It has never been easier to add a tropical touch to your home, since there are literally hundreds of thousands of tropical themed items on offer, in various colors and patterns. The hardest part of transforming your home will be the huge amount of choice and to make your décor work well together to look in harmony.

But where do you start? What will look good? How can you bring the Tropics into your home without the effect being too strong? What are the basic color schemes and patterns that determine the Tropical look, and how can you sprinkle Tropical Home décor throughout your living space without it looking tacky or overdone?

Here are a few tips that will help you on your way of transforming your home with Tropical Home décor:

Neutral Colors should be the foundation of any tropical themed home décor. These include beige, tan, camel, different green tones, deep brown, soft gold, ivory and pale yellows. You can even add muted red tones, but just to accentuate the theme. These colors should be found on your floors, walls, in your furniture and window coverings.
An absolute must to incorporate in Tropical Home décor are natural materials like bamboo, wicker, rattan or even grass cloth. Their texture and pattern will look stunning and in tune with nature, and they elude natural comfort and have very good durability. Again, use these materials in your furniture, window coverings, floors and walls, or even some of your ornaments, like bowls and pictures.
To add the special Tropical touch you can’t do without plants. Any broad leaf plants, and of course palm trees will bring the tropics straight into your house. Group them together for a jungle like effect, or have bigger single plants take center stage in strategic spots. With clever lighting from underneath they will play a big part in the transformation!
Use animal designs and images of the wild in your Tropical Home décor accents around the house. They can be in the fabrics you use – always soft and supple, maybe some cushions, or an ottoman, with a zebra or leopard print. Place animal images (figurines, pictures etc.) throughout – they can be bright in color (think of colorful parrots, or tropical flowers).

In general you should keep small accessories to a minimum. They can make the house feel cluttered. Rather have a few bold, bigger accessories to keep the feeling of calm. It is important to keep to horizontal lines, as they suggest the relaxation and calmness that is so important within Tropical Home décor.
